SOME DOCUMENTED ACTS OF POLITICAL REPRESSION IN CUBA DURING MARCH OF 2011 THAT WERE VIOLATIONS OF CIVIL AND POLITICAL RIGHTS.

least 77 documented incidents of abuse

repressive government agents or paramilitary elements. Las Damas de Blanco were attacked
physical and verbal acts of repudiation "organized by the political police on 17, 18 and 19 March.
took place at least 264 temporary detention (for several hours or days).
During March 2011 were released 14 political prisoners, nine of them emigrated to Spain
and five prisoners of conscience remain in the country released on parole. The 14 prisoners
also
were qualified out of court by the government as "prisoners
counterrevolutionaries."
the past four months we have documented 10 new cases of politically motivated prisoners.
