López Obrador Calls submit to Congress a national debate on labor reform initiative

As a representative of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA), I present to you , members of the House of Deputies, our disagreement with the reform initiatives to the Federal Labour Law, presented jointly by the parliamentary groups of the PRI and PAN.
These are our reasons and arguments:
1. It's a shame that the national institutions, in this case the Legislature, continue to act as instruments to serve the international financial institutions and the country's oligarchy.
2. As is known, from 28 years ago has applied the so-called neoliberal policy that benefits only a minority of prey, at the expense of the suffering of the vast majority of Mexicans.
3. Since then, there is not a development project itself, attached to our reality, which would serve the large and serious national problems such as lack of economic growth, jobs, corruption, impunity, insecurity, inequality, marginalization of young people and the impoverishment of the people.
4. On the contrary, throughout this period has been imposing an agenda with so-called structural reforms in labor, energy, fiscal and social security, in essence, mean privatization, plunder and severe social decline.
5. But the most outrageous is that even when you are destroying the country, continue to insist on the same anti-people policy and submissive, only by ambition and the profit motive of those who believe the owners of Mexico.
6. With this background and in this context is that now seeks to reform the Federal Labor canceling social rights that has conquered the working class and people of Mexico throughout history.
7. It is unacceptable that such a reform is proposed, for example, the hourly employees based on the minimum wage. That is, a worker who works one hour charge about 7 pesos, and who works 4 hours, charge 29 pesos, half of the minimum wage is intended to hire workers subject to trial periods of up to six months, leaving the employer, at the deadline, you can fire them without compensation and no right to any social benefits. So would workers hired for initial training or seasonal. It also opens the door for outsourcing giving rise to the payment of low wages without benefits, and "legal fraud" against the workers. Among other serious setbacks specified in that reform.
8. On the other hand, it is worth noting the similarities between the reform proposals submitted by the PRI and the PAN. There are even identical paragraphs, which shows that there was agreement and that parliamentary procedure is a formality. This coupled with the interest to pass without analysis, in haste, steam, such reforms slyly exploiting the Easter period.
For all these reasons, we call upon the Members of all parties to act with responsibility, independence and decency. Specifically, we propose to convene consultative forums to workers, employers, unions, experts and citizens to carefully analyze the potential benefits for the country and the damage it would cause the hastily approve the initiative to reform the Federal Law Work by the PRI with the support of the PAN.
We note that continue to approve amendments to the Constitution and the laws to legalize the spoils and abuses of a few against the majority, only causes more social breakdown, more injustice, resentment, insecurity and violence.
So we hope that Members act as true representatives of the people and know how to rise to the occasion.
